Contestants are required to compete in four of the five educational events in order to compete in the Cattle Show and to be eligible for awards. The educational events include:

1. Cattleman’s Quiz
2. Judging Contest  
3. Public Speaking  
4. Sales Talk  
5. Skill-A-Thon

Age Requirements

1. Contestants 8 years and under who have not reached their 9th birthday prior to January 1, 2012, must compete in the Novice Division. Novice contestants will compete in only three (3) events: Advertising & Promotion, Sales Talk and Cattlemen’s Quiz. Novice exhibitors are not eligible to exhibit cattle.

2. At the Regionals Classics:
a. Junior Division contestants must be 9 years old on or before January 1, 2012, and not have reached their 15th birthday prior to January 1, 2012.
b. Senior Division contestants must be 15 years old on or before January 1, 2012 and not have reached their 22nd birthday prior to January 1, 2012.

3. At National Classic:
    a. Junior Division: Contestants must be 9 years old on or before January 1, 2012, and must not have reached their 14th birthday prior to January 1, 2012.
b. Intermediate Division: Contestants must 14 years old as of January 1, 2012 and must not have reached their 18th birthday prior to January 1, 2012.
c. Senior Division: Contestants must be 18 years old as of January 1, 2012 and must not have reached their 22nd birthday prior to January 1, 2012.
