Even though retired, Dr. Bellows is recognized as a leading authority on dystocia and much of his research findings on this subject have been incorporated into the beef cattle industry in terms of establishing sound breed objectives. Of particular significance are his findings relative to the impact of birth weights on calving difficulty.
