Orville Deckert , Arena, ND, served on the ASA Board of Trustees from 1987-1993. In this interview, Orville discusses his recollections of the early days of the Simmental breed. The interview, conducted and recorded by Erika Kenner, was presented during the 2011 North Dakota Simmental Annual Meeting, celebrating 40 years of Simmental in North Dakota.

North Dakota was the 11th State to become a State Simmental Association.  Orville recalls his experience at the association evolved in 1970.
