November 2009 Fred Schuetze
To continue the presence of American Simmental genetics along with discussing the policies of the American Simmental Association in the World Simmental family and to insure our continued commitment to developing the Simmental breed.
Beth Mercer, Sally Buxkemper, Bob Finch
The purpose of the trip was to learn about the utilization of Simmental and Simbrah (called Simbrasil in Brazil) genetics in the state of Bahia, a state that American Simmental Association has not visited in the past. We attended the Fenagro (Agricultural Fair) in Salvador, Bahia that is the equivalent of a state fair in the U.S.
The purpose of this activity was to promote the use of Simmental and Simbrah genetics in Colombia. This was accomplished by attending the 2009 AGRO- EXPO in Bogotá, speaking at a field day in Cali and visiting key contacts in Medellin, Colombia.
